Emergency Water Filter Straw
A pocket-sized filter straw that runs on nothing but suction. It strains the sand, mud and silt out of rivers, lakes, streams and puddles, then removes the bacteria and protozoa you can't see, so your family still has safe water to drink when the tap stops.
- Works with the power out. No batteries, no charging, no chemicals.
- Removes 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa with a 0.01-micron membrane, tested by an independent lab.
- Up to 1,800 gallons per straw. That's about five years of drinking water for one person.
- No expiration date when stored dry. Put it in the drawer now and it's ready in year one or year twenty.
- Made with FDA food-contact-compliant, BPA-free materials. No aftertaste, nothing added to your water.

Product overview
The tap can fail without the power going out
On a well, no electricity means no pump and no water. On city water, floods and broken mains can push contamination into the lines while the tap still runs, which is why boil-water notices follow storms and main breaks. After Hurricane Helene, Asheville, North Carolina spent weeks under one. And in an evacuation you may not have a tap at all.
Made for a week without water, not a weekend hike
Most filter straws are trail gear, built for a few hours of clear mountain water. This one filters to 0.01 micron and removes 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa, including:
- E. coli, which can cause severe dehydration and kidney damage
- Salmonella, fever and stomach illness that can last a week
- Vibrio cholerae, the cause of cholera
- Giardia, gut illness that can drag on for weeks
- Cryptosporidium, especially dangerous for kids and anyone immunocompromised
Two ounces. 1,800 gallons. No expiration date.
Light enough for a child to carry their own. One straw filters up to 1,800 gallons, about a gallon a day for five years. Stored dry and above freezing, it doesn't expire. Get one for every person, every car and every go-bag.
How it works
Stage 1, coarse screen. Stops sand, mud and debris at the intake so murky water doesn't clog the membrane.
Stage 2, PP cotton. Medical-grade polypropylene catches fine sediment and micro-particles.
Stage 3, flow stabilizer. Spreads the pressure evenly over the membrane, so sipping stays easy for kids and older adults.
Stage 4, 0.01-micron hollow fiber. Thousands of hollow fibers physically block bacteria, protozoa and microplastics. No chemicals, no waiting, no boiling.
First use: draw water through 3 to 5 times to prime the membrane. After that it's ready whenever you need it, as long as you store it dry.

Honest filtration and safety
Every filter straw has this limit. We just print it.
No hollow-fiber straw, including ours, removes viruses, dissolved chemicals or heavy metals. For viruses, add purification tablets or UV. For chemicals, add a carbon or reverse-osmosis filter. Layered together, you're covered.
Your tap can stop without warning
It doesn't take a hurricane. These are the three everyday ways families lose safe water.
-

The power goes out
On a private well, no electricity means no pump, and no pump means no water, even when the pipes are fine.

The water turns unsafe
Floods and broken mains push contamination into city lines. The tap still runs, but it isn't safe to drink, and the power to boil it may be out too.

You have to leave
An evacuation puts you in a car, a shelter or on the roadside. The only water is whatever's around you.

A straw in the drawer turns any of these from an emergency into an inconvenience.
Trusted by families across America
Built to work when nothing else does
Four stages of mechanical filtration and not one of them needs power. No batteries, no chemicals, nothing to wear out. This is grid-down gear, not a trail accessory.

Every straw inspected. Every claim checked.
Most survival straws go from factory to warehouse to your door with nobody checking them. Ours pass four checks before they get near your family's water.
Materials safe to drink through
Made from BPA-free, FDA food-contact-compliant polypropylene, the same material class used in IV filters and baby-bottle parts. No mystery plastics.
99.99% removal, verified outside
We don't grade our own work. Independent labs confirm the membrane removes 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa.

Pressure tested
Units are pressure tested for membrane integrity, seal strength and leak resistance.
Never expires
Many survival filters are rated for 3 to 5 years. Ours has no expiration date when stored dry and above freezing. Purely mechanical, so there's nothing inside to break down.
Real survival gear vs. junk-drawer gear
Most survival straws are repackaged hiking gear made for a sunny afternoon on the trail, not the day the water stops. Here's how ours compares.
One everywhere you might need it
An emergency rarely waits until you're home. Keep a straw wherever your family spends time.

Try it risk-free for 60 daysFrequently asked questions
Straight answers before you buy.
Does it remove viruses, chemicals or heavy metals?
No. It's a mechanical microfilter for bacteria, protozoa and microplastics. For viruses, add purification tablets or UV. For chemicals and metals, add activated carbon or reverse osmosis.
How many should I buy for my family?
At least one per person. Most families keep 3 to 5 so there is one in each go-bag, each car and a couple at home. Kids can carry their own with adult supervision.
What if it doesn't work, or I change my mind?
You're covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy for any reason within 60 days of delivery, contact us for a full refund. If it arrives damaged or you get the wrong item, we'll replace it free.
Does it expire, and how should I store it?
No expiration date if you store it dry and above freezing. There's no chemical media inside to break down. Let it dry fully before long-term storage to prevent mold.
How does 0.01 micron compare to other straws?
Most popular straws filter to 0.1 or 0.2 micron. Ours goes to 0.01, ten to twenty times finer. In an emergency you are more likely drinking from runoff, ditches and standing water than a clear stream, so finer filtration matters.
How long do 1,800 gallons last?
At one gallon a day, the basic recommended amount, almost five years from one straw. A family of four at a gallon each gets over a year. Many straws top out at 500 to 1,000 gallons.
What water sources can I use it with?
Any fresh water: rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, rainwater, puddles and ditches. Don't use it with salt water or water contaminated by industrial chemicals.
Can I use it every day, or only in emergencies?
Both. It's made to sit in a drawer for years, but you can take it camping, hiking or keep it as an everyday backup. It removes bacteria, protozoa and microplastics, so it isn't a replacement for treated tap water day to day.
Why isn't this sold on Amazon?
Amazon can pool identical-looking stock from different sellers in the same bin, so you might receive a counterfeit that never went through our testing. Selling only here means every straw you get passed our checks, and our guarantee means something because we know where it came from.
One less thing to worry about
Better to have it and never need it than need it and not have it.
